You might have some malware playing havoc with the proper functioning of your internet.

Three tools I'd use to help clean things up are:
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
    Combofix
    Eusing free registry cleaner

Run all three, in order, and with some luck, your browsers should start working a bit better.

Just use the free option in Malwarebytes Antimalware, rather than signing up for trial.
You may need to to reset the default internet settings in your browser afterwards, it depends on what gets found/removed.
You should run the Registry cleaner a few times in a row as it will pick up any keys orphaned in the previous pass.

Thanks Bearded Penguin for the reply,

I ran my virus program, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and a program I use called ccleaner and removed all temp files, internet history etc but didn't fix the problem. Although the malware program did pick up a few malware issues it still is the same.

I assumed because the other forum I am on didn't have the same issues ( which was running an older version of vbulletin ) it was something to do with this version of vbulletin, we have recently updated to a newer version of vbulletin on my other forum and last week had the same issues although it has come good again since. Maybe time for a new member name and see if still happens.

Very frustrating when you can't reply quote peoples posts and can't easily upload photo's

I'm familiar with ccleaner, it's registry clean is fairly similar to 'Eusing free registry cleaner' in the list I gave, though each find reg key the other doesn't (always the way).
Did you try combofix, it removes rootkits and all sorts of other nasties that virus checkers generally miss, and was the most likely step to fix the problem. It would have been best to run it before the reg clean (ccleaner) but will still be quite effective. Run the regclean again afterwards to find any keys left behind.

I'm fairly sure it's not related to your member name, but hey, anything's possible.

this must be a major annoyance for you,I have been using Firefox for years and it is much better than IE.I also use Norton security and have very few problems.

That it is DL, Not a fan of IE, and mainly use Firefox and occasionally Chrome, but have tried the forum on all 3 browsers and the problem still comes and goes on them all. I think the most annoyance is me not been able 2 solve what is causing it in the first place. Going 2 try the combo fix that PB suggested and see if that pics anything up
