Converted to Arcadia T5 Dragon tube, big difference!

Hi folks, I converted our viv from Repti Glo 10.0 T8, to Arcadia T5 14% Dragon lamp last night, mounted in a zoo Med slimline hood with reflector.

    Big thumbs up!
Massive difference in light output from the Arcadia T5 over T8, and more importantly, The quality of light a nice bright white and flicker free, with the UVB range leagues ahead of the T8 - with minimum recommended safe distance being 35cm for UV-6.

We have a branch above his basking rock which allows him to get to exactly 35cm, with his rock being around 45cm for UV 3-4. And able to move well away into shade.

It was the first morning using the T5 Dragon globe today, and we have a different Beardie! Very skitchy and active with a big appetite.
Very noticeable improvement in behavior! He had been a bit lethargic for a Juvenile...I think we have the answer as to why!

Our Repti Glo 10.0 was only 2 weeks old, I changed it after realizing that its UV output was only adequate very close to the bulb, which didn't suit our 60cm high enclosure. The new T5 with its broader UV range can be mounted to the recess in the ceiling, for a nice clean look.

Also mounted our second ceramic light mount received from ABDF, with a 75W CHE for night time control of winter temps on a separate thermostat.

I suppose it always pays to do your homework as to which tube is best. People reading this will hopefully be aware now of the output of the tubes they are using.

I second this tube! I use the 4 foot Arcadia 14% T5 HO tube and it is amazing in its light output, color rendition and the ensuing activity levels of your Bearded Dragon in the weeks that follow.

I switched over this year too, I got a dodgy hood and Arcadia sent me a new one for free.

Mounted a 14% tube as well.
Had a good chat with Anthony of Arcadia Australia prior to setting mine up, coupled with an Arcadia Deep Heat Emitter.
A list of suppliers (resellers) are on his website.
