    Dry skin?

    Hi guys, newbie here again

I've noticed that around Tigers hind leg creases and neck he has some skin shedding. Would this be him in shed or possibly dehydrated skin? I have been misting him a couple times, tried to bath him once (he wasn't impressed with me) and he has a water dish big enough for him to sit in (he's been using it as a toilet).

    Thanks for everyone's support!

Please take out the water dish. You run the risk of respiratory problems due to the humidity.

if misting isn't helping to remove the skin, you could try rubbing in some oil to help soften it.
There is also a product called Herpa shed which is supposed to help,I've just bought some but don't know how effective it is yet.

I have a product called 'skin shed' by reptile one I bought at petbarn, I used it for mushu because he had trouble shedding over his abscesses. To be honest I dont think it helped a lot, its mainly water anyway, just has a couple of hydrating extras that I doubt his skin can absorb (I mean its going onto shedding scales, not a porous skin).

In the photo he's definitely shedding, Mushu took a good 3 weeks to do a full body shed, he was a little dehydrated so I bathed him maybe twice in that time (only for like 5-10 minutes because he hates too), and gave his vegies a spray of water before serving.

when you bathe do you make the water a little warm or just straight cold water ? If you warm it up a little you will find they take to it a little better and splash it gently over their back being careful to not get too much over their face as this can freak them out.I do this in the bath tub

I warmed the water to about 27. I think it could be more him still settling in to my house as I have only had him 3 weeks now. I have a spray bottle I have been using instead and just misting his back and underbelly which he seems to like. Figured that was better than nothing while I slowly get him used to the bath.
