How to tell if babies are Dunners

As the title suggests, how do I tell if my hatchies are Dunners? Some of the tails have splotches in the mid and stripes towards the ends. whereas other babies are striped all the way. They are almost two weeks old, what scales can I see at this age that will give away if they are Dunners?

From what I understand, dunners have scales that point in every direction rather than all in 1 direction. I can't guarentee that statement but have been told by other breeders, I don't think it has anything to do with colours

Yeah, it's all about the scales. It's easy to tell in adults, but in hatchies it's very hard as their scales are so small. Hopefully after a shed or two it shows.

Also, I'm about to try and sex the hatchies and mark them, what paint pens are generally used? I don't want to use the wrong type and harm them.
