    Talking Newbie needing lighting/heating help

    Hi,
I'm getting a bearded dragon soon, and it'll be my first lizard: we have a snake already.
I've read so much and been thru so many posts and I am absolutely baffled.
I decided on MVB and then someone said no good for newbies.

    Our enclosure is 90Lx70Wx36Dcm.

Could some please advise me on what's best for newbies and this size tank.

I know we need a fluro and a globe.
If the fluro is heat what globe or if the globe is heat what fluro.

I had almost planned on an 80w MVB globe with a white light fluro, but now I'm confused again.

    Thanks for any help.
I'm starting to panic cos I havnt bought anything and our baby is growing fast.

Hey Cahlie as I explained the other day, you can do the 80W MVB plus 2' normal flouro in that enclosure ( always remembering you need to upsize in 6 months or so).
OR you can get a heat lamp plus 10UV.
Flouro is NOT heat, flouro whether tube or compact spiral can be UV or normal light.
Heat lamp is usually a spot lamp . For your small enclosure I'd suggest a 75W heat lamp plus a 10UVB 13W coil. Here is a pic of the 2 globes, UV has to be bought at a pet shop unfortunately (high priced) heat lamp from Bunnings (about $6-7 for 2) don't buy heat lamp from pet shop.

Thankyou that makes more sense. I'll get them. Sorry for asking again I'm just so confused and I keep getting attacked by fb trolls it's so upsetting. Thanks again for explaining it in simple people terms. Much appreciated

No need to apologize Cahlie, we'd rather you get it right at the beginning than waste your money and think you'd been led astray. We are all here to offer help and share advice.Hopefully your new baby will have a good life.
