We buy our heat lamps from Bunnings as pet shops are too dear.Philips spot lamps are ideal at about $7 for 2, buy a couple of different sizes so you can experiment with heat.Try 75 and 100W but summer in Sydney you might only need 60W.
Unfortunately UV lamps have no cheap alternative, there is reptile one or exo terra available from pet stores or online from a number of retailers. Make sure you get 10UVB as these are ideal for desert creatures.

I get the Philips too and always have a few spares on hand in the 40w, 60w, 75w and 100w to allow for seasonal changes.
I've just upgraded to Arcadia tubes for uvb, couldn't find what I wanted in QLD so had to get them shipped up from VIC. It's not wattage you want for uvb, it's length so in a 4 footer you want the 3 foot long uvb - whatever the watts is for that one.

IKR, I live out of town so a blown heat bulb = 45km round trip and the hours I get lost in Bunnings, plus the cost of getting lost in Bunnings. Just easier to stash some in the cupboard lol. I think Arcadia is 39w for the 3 footer. Not sure if it's different because it's a T5 instead of T8?

Haha. That's a long trip, my nearest bunnings is about 15 minutes away but I still keep several globes on hand, and yeah I get the being lost in bunnings, so much to look at lol

Not to brag, but my Bunnings is 2km away

I also hold multiples of various wattage Phillips spotlight globes, it doesn't take much for one to blow and your enclosure be without heat until you can source an alternative.

I use Arcadia 10% or 12% UVB fluros with a reflector, they guarantee 12 month life, but I still change out after 6 months ($80 each)
