I've been using Vetafarm Multical - nothing negative to say thus far.
I have always wondered if I was doing the right thing using an all-in-one dust, regardless of the good reviews

Apparently you shouldn't mix calcium with vitamins because once they come in contact with each other the potency starts to reduce, so premix is worse than mixing it as you use it. Consequently I'm not a fan.

That's interesting. Isn't it funny how the general consensus changes over the years. I dug up some old threads from 5-6 years ago, and the Vetafarm Multi was being pushed by Brett and others.
Certainly makes sense that an all-in-one wouldn't be as beneficial as tailoring an on-off schedule.

I might look into good quality calcium and multivitamin products and get Dex on them once he wakes up

Let me know if you come across anything good, I've tried a couple of brands but not happy so far.I've heard of people collecting their own cuttlefish from the beach and grinding it down but I'm nowhere near the beach, maybe I should buy some from the petshop?
As far as the multical goes ; we are advised to use calcium every second day and alternate with vitamins, so how do we achieve this when it is combined? and how do we avoid over use of calcium if used every day?

I agree on the over dosing, I was dusting once every second day, so as not to overload on either. Not ideal, but was all I had at that time. Hoping to find something more suitable by the time he's back being active

DL1, in my search over the web I came across a thread of aussiepythons where you indicated you were using Aristopet vitamin powder, how did you find the quality?
From what I can find, Aristopet and Zoo Med are the only 2 viable options available at the moment, the Reptical and Reptivite Australian distributor ceased importing it, hence why we can't find it available anywhere.

Aristopet was the supplier of Reptical and Reptivite, I didn't know they only imported it. I thought it was the best product I ever used. I am currently using Reptile One calcium + D3, I don't know if I'm just pedantic but it doesn't seem to sprinkle well (it doesn't seem as fluffy if that makes sense?).
I might try using it in a salt shaker and see how that goes.
    Cheers Rick
