    Exclamation Brumation

It's a time to remember that winter is upon us and that means our scaley friends will want to sleep, we may not want this but nature rules. Make sure your little friend has released his/her bowels prior to going to sleep, a warm bath will help this. Gradually reduce your heating /lighting schedule and when your dragon is ready then turn off all lights.Don't be afraid of the lack of movement, it is totally natural and is part of their lifestyle and is required for their health. They will be ready for a new life come spring when you will gradually reverse the lighting /heat schedule and bring them back to an active life style.

I am thinking about it Rick - just need to find the room - I would actually prefer a snake if I was going to get another reptile, just need to convince the man in my life!

Snakes are good because they don't actually brumate (inside at least) so you have a friend all year round. My 3 have stopped eating but not moving, and my new 1 is coming from SA tomorrow.

The Stooge is slowing, he's ready to rock and roll after missing out on his nap time last year. Vandal hasn't shown any signs of slowing yet, still eating like a horse!

Opie has been out cold for a while now - she was only 6 months old last year and I couldn't stop her going down, she is an extra stubborn lizard

I'm sorry to hear about your girl Rick it always tough when you lose one. On a happier note its pretty cool to be able to collect the more rare species - and pics are a requirement!
