Question Awake from brumation earlier than expected...

    Hello,

My beardie went into brumation around about mid March/April and has just woken up and strolled out of his cave and hanging out by his food bowl.

Shall I feed him as of now or leave him for the next few days and see if he goes back down?

    What do you suggest?

    Thanks

    James

I'd give him a drink first, if he's still out tomorrow try a little food.
That's pretty early to come out of brumation ,especially in Adelaide. Is your house very warm? Or have you kept his lights on?

Mine came up yesterday too, around midday. Have offered a little bit of food this morning and have the water bowl out. He's sluggish, but got himself onto his basking branch and slowly heading towards the heat

He came out on a 25 degree day that happened here in Adelaide. House is normally cold but we also put heaters on whenever necessary.

I've given him some water, fed some some carrots and a small portion of crickets in which he consumed.

I'll see how he goes over the next couple of days

    James

I had this a bit in previous years where warmer QLD days would have The Stooge up and about. I offered water on the first day and food on the second day. If he ate he had to bask. After a few weeks of this cycle I ended up heating him overnight to keep him up until the weather decided what it was doing.
