    vBulletin issue?

A support forum for some lab hardware I use just sent a notice that an exploit in vBulletin had been used to hack the site. They linked to https://arstechnica.com/information-...vbulletin-bug/. Since this forum runs on vBulletin, should we be concerned?

I don't understand what they hope to achieve by hacking this site?

Hi Larry ,it shouldn't concern us as it only affects people using version 5. We are still on V4.2.3

Cool. Apparently they look for emails and addresses since a lot of people reuse passwords. I confess I do that, but only for sites where I don't have anything valuable going on. Hacking an equipment support forum didn't seem too likely to get them much but I guess they have their reasons.
