    Gday

    Hi everyone,

My name is Dean and I live in Wollongong NSW.

Weve been the lucky owners of a 6 month old Central Beardy (Rexy) for just over a week now, they are such cool little dudes with the funniest manerisms.

Have just discovered he much prefers woodies over crickets and given the price of both to purchase from Pet Shop, thought I might try breeding the woodies.

I know what I roughly need, more looking for inspo for what others may have used for the actual breeding tub. Ill use Fluon, just not sure what I should do for the lid.

Hit me with your woodies setups.

    Cheers and talk soon.

Hi Dean and welcome to our forum .
woodie tubs are quite simple to make, mine is a 50l. Most people hot glue some fly mesh onto the lid after cutting a hole in it. Inside I have some egg trays vertically with flat cardboard in between to keep the gap. (Reason for being vertical is so frass (poop) can fall down to the bottom) at 1 end. A small heat mat under this end is a good idea.
At the other end I have 2 trays, 1 for dry food (dog biscuits) and 1 for wet food. Don't get carried away with wet food, we have found too much kills them off ; they can survive with very little.
As you said Fluon is used but don't think this is 100% escape proof, if stressed woodies can climb over it

My local IGA keeps the cardboard apple trays for my woodie tub.
