The Stooge is 7 now, where did all those years go! He's cracking along with no sign of slowing down yet. Vandal is going into his cave at night now but the days are warm enough to coax him back out.

Pet shops are mostly staffed by people who have no knowledge of reptiles needs and are told by management to sell as much as possible.
We are here to help, that is our reason for being.

Some of mine are slowing down, the veges are not being eaten as quickly by most but still eating a bit. I see more waste than usual.
1 of my pygmies has been caving for about a week but all the others are still out and about.
Opie was up early last year and down early this year. She put herself behind her log at the end of Jan and hasn't moved since. No amount of heat increases will see her budge she like her sleep too much. I just let her do her own thing now.

Should we keep bringing her/him out as itís only young still a few months old

The heat mat will be of no use to you. Take it out and put under your woodies.

Brian is correct, heat mats are useless for dragons or any lizard for that matter; it just makes them lazy
